Ruby said that local long-retired rodeo champion Les went to watch the annual rodeo. While leaning on the rails taking in the action he sensed someone next to him. When he looked..…it was his fellow champion rodeo rider of old, Buddy…..deceased for twenty years! Despite his shock, the visitor said don’t worry, I’ve only come to say hello. They then spoke about early rodeo days, until the visitor said it’s time for me to be going. The song Les and Buddy was written then. | | Greg Champion – Champs – has seen 28 Tamworth Festivals since his first in 1991.
