Hi everyone!
Gerry Flanagan is a country and gospel music artist from Dundrum, County Down. Formerly working in the construction industry, he turned to songwriting and performing after a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. He is known for tracks like "A Little Piece of Heaven (Medjugorje)" and "My Dundrum Home"
Gerry has teamed up with Denise Cunningham to record the Duet "If Teardrops Were Pennies & Heartaches Were Gold." Denise has a very powerful voice and her dulcet tones compliment Gerry's vocal.
The Song.
"If Teardrops Were Pennies" was written by country singer-songwriter Carl Butler. While often associated with the 1973 duet by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton, or the 1951 hit by Carl Smith, the song was authored by Carl and his wife, Pearl Butler.
Gerry and Denise have formed a two-piece band called 'Southern Sounds' and are taking the country music scene by storm, and playing to packed out venues around the country. They are now taking bookings for late 2026 and into 2027.
We wish Gerry & Denise the very best of luck with their new single release. We hope you can add the new release to your shows and podcasts.
Gerry & Denise would like to thank you in advance for playing their music.
