LAND OF THE BEARDIES Rachel Jillett Born and raised in Glen Innes in the New England region of NSW, Rachel Jillett has country music running through her veins. Family singalongs filled her childhood, with her father on guitar and vocals, her mother at the piano and sister Carmel keeping time on tambourine. By five, Rachel was writing songs and dreaming of a musical future.     That dream blossomed into a career spanning four studio albums released through LBS Music, festival performances and a loyal following drawn to her warm, down-to-earth style and love of storytelling. Her contributions were recognised with the 2026 Dusty Boots Festival Services to Australian Country Music – Michael Jones Award.     Rachel's latest single, “Land Of The Beardies,” was originally featured on her 2018 album Country Hearted but is now receiving its first standalone single release.     Written by ‘Australia’s First Lady of Song’ Shaza Leigh, this stirring bush ballad celebrates the Scottish pioneers who helped establish Glen Innes, its proud Celtic heritage and the enduring spirit of the New England region.  With evocative references to winter winds, standing stones and the generations who shaped the district, “Land Of The Beardies” is a fitting musical tribute to Rachel's hometown and its remarkable history.   Management: rachelj121@yahoo.com.au
